Some sketches I did while watching televised dog shows. I like to watch them whenever I get a chance, it's a fun opportunity to see a variety of unusual shapes and personalities. I think the husky won this particular competition.
Well, I'd heard rumors that a coffee table book was in the works but didn't know what was going to be in it. Just happened to come across it in the bookstore last week and it has lots of art from talented Nickelodeon artists and I'm honored to find some of my concept art included from Tak and the Power of Juju. Check it out if you get a chance, it's easy to spot with it's slime green cover ;P
Um, he's some kind of multi-purpose vacuum-drill robot thingy.....actually I did this in a design class offered at Nick recently. We were supposed to design a character based on electronic parts and this is what I came up with. It was a really fun class that pushed us out of our comfort zones and gave me some more ideas to use when designing characters.
I did a version of this a while back that I was never quite satisfied with. I got a bit burned out at the time and felt I should let it be for a while....until recently when I decided to re-open it again and look at it fresh which gave me some new ideas. So here's the updated version....thought she needed some glasses : )
Hey everybody, just a little shameless promotion but the show I've been working on for over a year premieres Friday, August 31st at 8pm on Nickelodeon. Check your listings. I helped design the characters and worked alongside many talented people. It's been a long time in the making and exciting to finally premiere-hope you enjoy : )
(Early concept sketch)
(Final rough design)
(I colored this one just for fun)
I did this for the recent SCBWI contest mostly to try to rekindle my illustration skills which I've been missing and it was a fun way to unwind after a long day at work.

Here's an incidental character I did for Catscratch. Blink and you'll miss her-she only appears on screen for about two seconds before being smashed by a giant oceanliner....being an incidental can be hazardous....
BTW, thanks to everyone who have left comments, it's always fun hearing from you guys : )

Scribbles of a little girl I saw in the park.... kinda messy, but it's the first page of a brand new sketchbook and that's always exciting.
